Computer Based Experiment System Application Training for Science Teaching in Schools

Pudak Scientific has held a  training "Computer Based Experiment System Application Training for Science Teaching in Schools" for Elementary to Senior High School teachers. The training was held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 with Dr. Hendro, M.Sc. (Professor of Physics and Chair of the Department of Physical Electronics Laboratory of Bandung Institute of Technology) as the speaker.

There were 30 participants, coming from several schools in the provinces of West Java, Banten, DKI Jakarta and Yogyakarta, including:

  1. Kab. Bandung (SDN II Baros)
  2. Kab. Indramayu (SMPN 1 Kandanghaur)
  3. Kab. Ciamis (SMPN 1 Cipaku)
  4. Kab. Garut (SMAN 18 Garut)
  5. Kab. Karawang (SMKN 1 Karawang, SMAN 1 Rengasdengklok,)
  6. Kab. Bogor (Sekolah Madania)
  7. Kab. Cirebon (SMAN 9 Cirebon, IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon)
  8. Kab. Bekasi (SMPK Nasional Lippo Cikarang, Sekolah Dian Harapan Cikarang)
  9. Kota Jakarta (SMAN 27 Jakarta, SMP 1 Said Naum, SMP Damai, SMA Dian Harapan, SMK Muhammadiyah 12 Jakarta, Universitas Al-Azhar Indonesia)
  10. Kota Tangerang (Binus International School Serpong)
  11. Kab. Sleman (SD Model Sleman)

Dr. Hendro, M.Si. demonstrated some exciting computer-based experiments to the participants such as a simple pendulum experiment using motion sensor and light sensor gate, as well as experiments using electromagnetic induction voltage sensor.

Participants were also introduced to the components of Computer Based Experiment System (CBES) and MoLab such as interfaces, sensors and Coach 6 software.

Training material topics that were introduced and then practiced by the participants were:

  1. Sound beat from two tuning forks using sound sensors
  2. Plant photosynthesis in the dark and under the light using CO2 gas sensor
  3. Measuring heart rate using a heart rate sensor
  4. Animal respiration using CO2 gas sensor
  5. Measuring the voltage generated from lemons
  6. Determining the titration of vinegar acidimetry
  7. Determining the heat reaction using classical calorimeter

Besides working on some interesting science experiment topics using CBES tools, participants were also given and installed Coach 6 Lite software on their computers / laptops, so they can directly try the features of the software and can easiy learn the modern experiment tools that can make science experiments more fun.
